   Wild River Triathlon Club's Dave Holden member of "Team Minnesota-2012"

Dave Holden (Hudson, WI) has been nominated this year for 2 Minnesota Multi Sport awards. After having a magnificent season with 4 race wins (Liberty Olympic, Croixathlon, St. Paul Tri, and St. Croix Valley Olympic) he was nominated for the Male Master of the Year and Most Improved Triathlete Awards.

Results of all Minnesota Multisport Awards will announced at the annual Minnesota Multisport Party on Sat. Nov. 10th. and  be posted on minnesotatrinews.com.

 Wild River Club Facts from 2008 season:

• The club has 71 club members- ages 8 to 65.  (45) men  (26) women
• Club members finished at least 214 multi-sport events in 2008, in at least 39 different events.
• Top races attended by Wild River athletes in 2008: (28) at Manitou sprint, (18) at Heart of Lakes long & short, (18) at Turtleman, (17) at Chisago Lakes long and short, (17) at Croixathlon sprint.
• 20 club members completed their 1st triathlon in 2008.
• (10) men and (5) women were in the top 10 finishers overall in a race.
• Wild River  had the overall 1st place winner (3) times. Dave Holden (Fairmont Tri), Bob Peterson (Croixathlon, and Barron Tri).
• Wild River members had (72) age group or class podium finishes.  (37 ) 1st  place,  (21) 2nd place,  and (16) 3rd  place finishers. 
• (9) club members finished in the top three of their age classes in the Midwest Events season series- 2008.
• (9) club  members completed Ironman distance events in 2008. IM Hawaii: (D.Holden, J. Sosniecki, M.Colaizy) , IM Cour d’Alene : (J.Sosniecki) , IM Wisconsin: (Mo Mouw, Suzann Mouw, Cindy Tiedke, Eric Olson, Dominic Siwik). 
• The club has at least (39) Ironman finishers over the years

2008 

Three Wild River Club Members Complete Ironman!!

Saturday, October 11th, three of our own completed the grueling Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii. The usual hot, humid, and windy conditions were again a factor  in making this one of the toughest sporting events in the world.

 Dave Holden from No. Hudson,WI, finished the 140.6 mile event in 10 hrs. 53 min. and 16 seconds. John Sosniecki of River Falls,WI,  finished in 11:38:22, and Mike Colaizy of Osceola, WI, finished in 13:26:58.

Last year's runner-up Craig Alexander from Australia was the overall mens winner with a time of 8 hours 17 min. and 45 seconds. Chrissie Wellington of Great Britain was the womens champ for the second straight year, with a time of 9:06:23.

Wild River members qualify for IRONMAN World!!  

Three members of Wild River Triathlon club have qualified for this years Ironman World Championship ,and will be competing Saturday, October 11th. Dave Holden of North Hudson, WI, John Sosniecki of River Falls, WI, and Mike Colaizy of Osceola, WI have all worked hard to meet their ultimate goal in the sport of triathlon. Sunday, Sept. 7th,  there will be 6 Wild River Triathlon Club members in Madison, competing in the annual Ironman Wisconsin Triathlon.

Who Are We?    

Wild River Triathlon is a non-profit club of like minded athletes dedicated to the healthy life-style of multi-sports.  Our focus is on the disciplines of swimming, biking and running.  We are comprised of individuals of all ages and levels, from novice to elite, living in the St. Croix River region.  We wish to train, learn, compete and socialize together, and share our knowledge and experience with others that desire the same.
